Hampco, Inc. offered the Get L.I.T. – Eat Well… Live Long Nutrition Program to educate individuals on healthy eating habits, inspiring them to make informed choices, improve their overall well-being, and transform their lifestyles. These classes were held at various locations in Senate District 34 including both city and parish schools in Ouachita Parish and were taught by Nurse Practitioner Dr. Karen Gant.
Get L.I.T. Learning Objectives:
• Exploring the food pyramid and recommended daily allowances
• Understanding food labels and making healthy choices
• Exploring different food groups and their importance
• Learning about portion control and balanced meals
• Discussing the impact of nutrition on overall health and well-being
• Fun with Cooking and preparing healthy meals and snacks
